CT Technologist Duties and Responsibilities:· Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan; strictlyadhering to department policy and procedure for patient safety· Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging.· Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable.· Insert IVs when necessary for the test.· Positions patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients withlimited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling.· Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessarycomponents within EPIC to include identifying images and assuring images are sentto the PACS system correctly upon exam completion.· Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.Requirements:· Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology andmaintains Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists(ARRT).· NYS licensure (must obtain PRIOR to starting position)· Two (2) Years' Experience· Level 1 Trauma Center Experience· BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)Preferred:· Injection certification preferred-must be willing to complete during orientationprocess.· Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment preferred.Soft Skills Required:· Effective written and verbal communication skills· A patient and compassionate disposition.· Team player who can maintain a cohesive working environment.
