**Job Title:** MRI Technologist**Job Specialty:** Radiology Diagnostic**Job Duration:** 9 months**Shift:** Mid - 2x7.5 - 12pm-8pm, Saturdays and Sundays**Guaranteed Hours:** 15.00 hours per week**Experience:** Not specified**License:** New York State License (L.R.T.)**Certifications:** - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (MRI certified) - BLS certification - NY State IV Certification **Must-Have:** - English proficiency (Speak, Read, Write) - MRI ARRT certification **Job Description:**- Demonstrate the ability to perform clinical, technical, service, and administrative tasks.- Perform MRI imaging procedures, operating and preparing specialized equipment.- Assist, prepare, and position patients for MRI procedures.- Apply technical judgment to obtain diagnostic-quality studies according to protocols and patients' needs.- Provide patient education about specific imaging procedures.- Review patient safety questionnaires and follow MRI safety precautions.- Ensure patients are cleared before transitioning zones.- Assist in administering opaque media and loading power injector under aseptic technique.- Position patients and coils to obtain optimal studies.- Scan patient-related documents.- Ensure all images are appropriately labeled as specified by the department SOP.- Assist physicians directly as necessary.- Evaluate radiographs for technical acceptability and ensure images are transmitted to PACS promptly.- Maintain the cleanliness of the radiology room and equipment, including removing soiled or dirty linen.- Maintain supplies and accessories necessary to safely perform duties.- Accurately record all required patient tracking information into the Radiology Information System (IDX).- Schedule exams into IDX as required.- Ensure all studies performed are completed in IDX in a timely fashion.- Inform supervisor or appropriate personnel of needed equipment repairs or unsafe conditions.- Prevent the spread of infection by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.- Attend in-services and other professional development meetings as required.- Maintain licensure in good standing, in accordance with the Public Health Code.
