Job Details- General Information: Beds: 2 stress testing rooms in Nuc Med; 1 area where they can do treadmill
- Minimum Experience required: 1.5 years as RN (system requirement); as well as 6 comprehensiveand most recent months to 1 year of stress testing experience specifically
- Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
- Patient Types: This position will only perform Stress Testing only
- On average – 6 per day
- Inpatients that will need stress testing in order to r/o MI or other cardiovascular events; stress testing done in order to move forward with best plan of care
- Some Outpatients (only if Heart & Vascular Institute outpatient clinic is full)
- 80% will be Inpatients and 20% are Outpatients
- Types of Stress Test: 70% are given medication for medical stress test/Lexiscans; 30% walking on a treadmill
- Patient Ratios: 2:1 -- 2 RNs OR 1 RN and 1 Exercise Physiologist per test
Job Requirements- Experience in stress testing is a MUST; strong 12 lead EKG knowledge/cardiac rhythm interpretation, peripheral IV start skills; basic assessment skills
- Education required: RN: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
Schedule Information- Departmental Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday 0700 – 1630
- Will be scheduled for 8h shifts within this timeframe
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
- Sat/Sun – 8a-12p or until all work is completed
- No call
- Holiday Expectations: done in rotation with other staff
- Approval of time off? Can approve up to 7 days; must extend contract to accommodate a full 13-week assignment
