Patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:1 for certain device patients
Unit staffing description: Free floating charge nurse to assist staff. Unit secretary and Administrative Care Tech M-F 0730-1530. Student Nurse Externs on variable shifts that assist nurses by performing tech duties.
Type of equipment: Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, Alaris IV pumps
Documentation system: Meditech
Floating policy: C/L employees float as needed, typically to other ICU's but can include other floors.
Patient Experience requirements: None specific
HCA Unit of Distinction Award Winner
Daisy Award Recipient

Strong critical care experience, including CVICU experience
Skills with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring required
Preferred experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT
Provide care to immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADS
Perform central line insertion, swan insertion, intubations, etc. on unit

Scheduling requirements: 2 weekends/month, 1 summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day), 2 Winter Holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day)

16 bed CVICU with 5 full time surgeons performing high volume and advanced cardiac surgeries
Specialize in post-operative cardiac surgery care and devices
Intensivist assigned to unit 24/7
