Job Title: Registered Nurse - Outpatient DialysisJob Specialty: Acute Level 1 RN - OutpatientJob Duration: 13 weeksShift: 4 x 10-hour shifts (40 hours per week)Guaranteed Hours: Not specifiedExperience: One year of experience in a dialysis environment as a Registered NurseLicense: RN LicensureCertifications: BLS through AHA or RQIMust-Have: Proficiency in hemodialysis equipment and peritoneal dialysis exchangesJob Description:- Apply nursing theory, technical, and communication skills to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families.- Assess patient needs and develop a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.- Provide direct care, evaluate patient progress, and coordinate care delivery throughout the patient's episode.- Develop specialized skills in caring for adults, adolescents, and geriatric populations with medical conditions requiring dialysis.- Accountable for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing.- Perform admission and discharge assessments prior to and after dialysis treatments, documenting any deviations from the norm and treatment plan.- Educate patients on an ongoing basis to ensure optimal well-being in all aspects of renal health.- Review primary patients on a quarterly basis, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care.- Complete annual Interdisciplinary Care Plans for primary patients in collaboration with the healthcare team.- Act as a liaison in coordinating patient care activities within the healthcare system.- Demonstrate familiarity with emergency equipment.
