Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: GI Lab Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour days, typically M-F with rotating call on weeknights, weekends, and holidays Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in GI License: Active RN License Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) required - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) recommended Must-Have: - Experience with moderate sedation - IV skills - Good communication - Ability to work as part of a team Job Description: - Prepare and assist physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including, but not limited to, EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, and Bronchoscopy. - Administer and monitor patients receiving moderate sedation. - Use equipment such as Olympus Scopes and video systems. - Utilize medication system Pyxis and electronic health record system EPIC. - Collaborate and work in a flexible, organized manner. - Work involves four 10-hour shifts with shared call among RNs, every 4-6 weekdays and weekends. - No floating to other units or departments needed. - Unit consists of 4 procedure rooms and 3-bed recovery with a nursing team handling both inpatient and outpatient procedures, averaging 12 per day. - Dress code allows for any color of scrubs. - Participate in unit-specific training and orientation program paired with a preceptor. Candidates should understand that the organization operates a drug-free campus and must produce a negative drug screen. Candidates will not float to other units or departments. The orientation period consists of 12 non-billable hours with no guaranteed hours during this period.
