Weekly Pay Range - $2703 To $3003 Job Title: Ambulatory Care Nurse Job Specialty: Gastroenterology Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 5x8.0, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, No Weekends Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Proficiency with EMR systems, specifically Epic Job Description: - Support the coordination, integration, communication, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice and clinical policies and procedures. - Participate in site and organizational quality and performance improvement activities. - Collect patient healthcare data systematically using appropriate assessment techniques and instruments. - Collaborate with licensed providers to develop patient-centered plans of care that prescribe interventions to attain expected outcomes. - Provide comprehensive care in support of all patients, including disease prevention guidance, rehabilitation care, public health care, and supportive care for symptom relief including health teaching and counseling. - Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests; collect patient health history and record information in the electronic health record. - Provide information, counsel, and education to patients and families regarding test results and treatment plans as directed. - Administer medications, provide comprehensive wound care, and perform triage for clinical concerns. - Assess and monitor patient responses to various treatments, procedures, and anesthesia. - Consult with clinical supervisors and licensed providers to determine the best treatment plans for patients. - Direct, supervise, and delegate tasks to licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, and technicians as needed to support patient flow and efficiency. - Ensure clinical compliance with patient safety initiatives and reporting. - Support quality initiatives to impact clinical outcome measures. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and promote collegial relationships. - Serve as a support and resource for nursing, other clinical staff, and providers. - Participate in clinical inquiry and activities to foster evidence-based practice. - Function as a respectful member of the healthcare team, engaging in self-assessment and promoting own professional growth and development. - Seek, acquire, and maintain current nursing knowledge and competence. - Execute medical regimens as prescribed by licensed providers. - Assess patients, identify needs, and plan comprehensive care. - Perform procedures such as hot & cold applications, placement/removal of orthopedic appliances, wound care, and central/peripheral IV line maintenance. - Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, ensuring comprehension and seamless service delivery. - Educate patients and families to facilitate healthy adjustments to new or changing health patterns. - Champion a patient-centered approach, upholding the values and mission of the health practice.
