Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: May vary; please inquire for details. Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active IL license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH required Must-Have: - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Multi-system organ failure management - Experience with IV insulin protocols - Chronic/Acute Renal failure experience - Cerner experience preferred Job Description: - Maintain a patient ratio of 1:2 in a 4-bed ICU unit. - Ensure quality care by following specified procedures for cardiac monitoring and emergency response. - Display proficient skills in arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, and IV therapy. - Administer continuous IV paralytics, sedation, and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips. - Assist in managing respiratory and thoracic procedures, including BiPAP, CPAP, chest tube insertion/removal, and ventilator management. - Interpret ABGs, perform suctioning (ETT, NT), and manage high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC). - Uphold infection prevention protocols, isolation precautions, and manage surgical wounds with drains or wound vacs. - Must be flexible to float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals if needed. - Work every other weekend and two out of three major holidays. - Complete required orientation and virtual modules by the end of the first day. Note: The role requires flexibility with the schedule and floating as needed in accordance with facility requirements. Candidates must be proactive in ensuring all necessary certifications and licenses are maintained.
