Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Specialty: ICU Nurse - Float PoolJob Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts per week, plus an additional 4th shift required per month, every other weekend)Guaranteed Hours: 34.50 hours per weekExperience: Minimum 2 years of critical care/tele experience, minimum 2 years RN experience.License: Registered Nurse (RN)Certifications: BLS, ACLSMust-Have: 2 years minimum ICU float pool experience in a hospital setting, Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred, EPIC experience highly preferred.Job Description:- Delivers patient care incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and utilizing the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice. - Assesses and evaluates patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in patient care management.- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.- Educates patients and caregivers on their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease.- Communicates effectively with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.- Manages assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing, demonstrating effective resource allocation.- Role models the tenets of Relationship Centered Care through key actions such as Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding.- Considers patient values, preferences, cultural diversity, and knowledge in all aspects of care, and establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with them.- Initiates service recovery for patients and family members with concerns, escalating to appropriate managers as needed.- Supports staff use of evidence-based practices to increase understanding of patients' perceptions of care and conducts Purposeful Hourly Rounding addressing critical patient needs.- Ensures safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.- Engages in formal and informal peer and institutional review processes and collaborates on quality improvement projects and studies.- Performs charge nurse duties as assigned and coordinates with relevant managers to ensure supply and inventory sufficiency.- Demonstrates patient-focused and cost-effective approaches to equipment, staff, and resource utilization, and accurately documents patient care.- Facilitates patient throughput on a shift basis and engages in professional development activities to advance clinical competence.- Encourages a spirit of scholarship, inquiry, life-long learning, and innovation, participating in shared decision-making through practice councils and committees.
