Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day - 12-hour shifts, 3 days a week, from 07:00 AM to 07:00 PM Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: Valid RN license from the nurse's state of residence Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (to be completed within six months of hire) - Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) (to be completed within six months of hire) - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) (to be completed within six months of hire) Must-Have: - Fingerprinting must be submitted and cleared prior to start - Copies of current immunizations - Proof of a negative TB skin test within the last two years (one within 30 days prior to start) - Documentation of 2 MMR vaccinations, Tdap, and flu shot - Clean background check prior to arrival - COVID exemptions: Medical exemptions require approval from our medical review board (no religious exemptions accepted) Job Description: - Provides nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). - Performs a variety of responsible nursing care procedures requiring professional knowledge. - Follows guidelines including doctors' orders, standards of care, nursing policies, procedures manuals, and hospital policies. - Provides inpatient care and support in a 5-bed ICU to individuals of all ages and their families. - Engages in after-hours recovery of post-op general surgery, pediatric, and OB patients as needed. - Expected to float to emergency, medical-surgical, or pediatric departments in case of low census. - Works independently in completing assignments. - Offers care and guidance within a culturally rich and diverse community. - Participates in a structured orientation program, available every two weeks. - Submits a housing application two weeks prior to the start date if needed. - Holiday coverage is required.
