Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour night shifts, with floating to MedSurg/Tele, every other weekend Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: - At least 1 year of experience working in ICU - Flexibility to meet the needs of the unit and hospital - Team player attitude - Previous travel experience is not required Job Description: - Work in a 25-bed critical access hospital offering inpatient acute care, outpatient services, and emergency services - Administer and manage titratable drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, levophed, versed, propofol, heparin, etc. - Maintain patient ratios of 1:2; may occasionally manage 1:4 when housing telemetry boarders - Float to MedSurg/swing where ratios are 1:4 for telemetry and 1:5 for MedSurg - ICU nurses floating to MedSurg will typically have a lighter load - Participate in orientation featuring classroom learning, department tours, and hands-on training - Complete hospital orientation and competencies over the course of a designated training schedule - Comply with dress code disallowing hoodies, sweatshirts, or sweat jackets Enjoy the nearby attractions such as New Hogan Lake and California Caverns, and the inviting small-town atmosphere an hour from a major city.
