Level 2 RN – Med SurgSchedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Must work every other weekend & holidays)Floating: May be required to float to other Medical-Surgical unitsScrub Color: Ciel BlueEMR: EPIC experience requiredJob Summary:The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role requires experience with tracheostomy and ventilator patients and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of patient care.Key Responsibilities:Develop individualized care plans based on patient interviews, health records, and identified needs, including discharge planning.Provide direct patient care, administer medications, IV therapy, and other therapeutic treatments as prescribed.Respond to emergency situations, initiating appropriate life-saving measures when necessary.Educate patients and families on preventive, curative, and rehabilitative measures, tailoring information to their learning needs.Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, outcomes, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.Supervise and delegate tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed personnel while ensuring quality care.Maintain a safe environment by overseeing supplies, equipment, and general unit upkeep.Stay current with nursing best practices, professional development, and legal standards.Requirements & Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg experienceBLS certification (American Heart Association required)Experience with tracheostomy and ventilator patientsProficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system
