Certification Details BLS certification Job Details Medical Surgical Unit - Mount Sinai West The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others. Delivers patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and through the application of the nursing process based upon theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards. Assesses and evaluates patient care needs and applies critical thinking skills in patient care management. Job Requirements NYS RN License BLS certification 2 years Med/Surg experience Minimum 2 years RN experience EPIC experience highly preferred Schedule Information 3x12 Schedule with every other weekends & holidays required Unit Specific Information Medical Surgical Unit - Mount Sinai West Average Unit Census 30 patients 34 Beds in Unit Staffing Guidelines 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio Additional Details Performs charge nurse duties as assigned. Coordinates with the Clinical Coordinator to ensure supplies are appropriately utilized and inventory is sufficient for patient care. Escalates material or staffing resource deficits to charge nurse, Clinical Nurse Manager or Nursing Shift Manager. Facilitates patient throughput on shift basis.
