Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Medical Nursing - Surgical Unit Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, 7 PM - 7 AM, 4x12 Hr Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week Experience: Minimum 2 years required, 5 years preferred License: RN license required Certifications: CPR, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, EKG required Must-Have: Travel experience required; English proficiency (speak, read, write) Job Description: - Provide professional nursing care to assigned patients utilizing the nursing process within established standards and practices. - Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments on all patients and reassess as per policy. - Deliver individualized, age-specific care to support hemostatic regulation, hemodynamic monitoring, and physiological functioning. - Maintain accurate nursing documentation, including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses, and assessments of changes. - Treat patients and their families with dignity and respect while maintaining patient confidentiality. - Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and families; function as a patient advocate. - Interact professionally with patients and families, involving them in forming an individualized care plan and reviewing it daily. - Formulate teaching plans based on identified learning needs and evaluate the effectiveness, including family education as appropriate. - Supervise and allocate work to other healthcare staff involved in patient care. - Assist physicians with procedures in the department. - Respond promptly to workload changes to maintain optimal productivity and efficiency. - Participate in the development and evaluation of performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and work environment. - Serve as a preceptor to orient new employees. - Enhance professional growth through educational programs, literature review, in-service and staff meetings, and workshops. - Maintain the operation of patient care equipment and assist in cost containment through proper ordering and conservation of supplies. - Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and effective functioning under stressful situations. - Perform housekeeping duties and patient transportation as necessary. - Adhere to the dress code and follow infection control, safety, and personnel guidelines. - Serve as team leader and role model for other staff members.
