- This position assumes responsibility and accountability for providing direct patient care to a group of patients for a designated time frame on a medical-surgical unit.
- Astute assessment skills, IV skills, independent decision-making and the ability to function under high stress situations is required.
- Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing, systematic manner.
- Formulates a goal directed plan of care by establishing priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs and available unit resources.
- Performs efficiently in emergency patient situations, following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons and documenting events.
- Responsible for the supervision of any LPN's, Nurse Aides, and assignments to the Medical/Surgical Unit.
- Job Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and current Colorado license.
- Must have documentation of current CPR and Basic Life Support training.
- ACLS certification or will have certification within one year of employment.
- Previous related experience. Graduate nurses with one year of Medical/Surgical experience preferred.
- Schedule Information
- Full Time position working 36 hours per week 12-hour shifts.
- May need to work overtime as need arises.
