Position Description: 1. General job duties / types of procedures required:Plan, coordinate and implement care for an acuity-based assignment. Patient population includes general med/surg, epilepsy monitoring, and oncology. Utilizes a FLEX nurse, phlebotomy, transportation team, Transitional Care Service/DC team and a Vascular Access Nurse to assist the nurse with patient care. CNAs are used on the floor and assigned to each nurse. Procedures: IV insertion, central lines, foleys, NG tubes, tube feedings, chest tubes.The following are unit expectations: bedside rounding, hourly/proactive rounding, The Five Ps, (pain-potty-position-personal items, promise to return), AIDET (acknowledge-introduce-duration-explain-thank you) , mid-shift huddle, participation in Learning Board.2. Equipment utilized in the unit/department:EPIC charting, PLUM IV infusion pumps3. Required skills, minimum years of experience, and/or education:1 year of Oncology RN experience required1 year of Med Surg experience requiredMust have experience administering IV ChemotherapyGraduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program required4. Required licensures, certificates/registrations, and/or life support certifications:State of ID (or compact) RN licenseBLS - AHAOncology/Chemo cert required prior to start5. Shift or schedule requirements:12-hour shifts (7am-7pm, 7pm-7am)No CallCandidate won t work aloneWeekends: 6 weekend shifts required per every 6-week schedule in any combination (day shift weekends are considered a Saturday or Sunday, night shift weekends are considered Friday night or Saturday night),Holidays: when applicableUnit does self-scheduling!6. Floating to other units/departments:Will float to other units that match candidate s skill set, as needed7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/department:37-bed unit: 5 double occupancy rooms, 9 lift rooms, 7 +/- isolation rooms, 2 Epilepsy Monitoring (EMU) beds8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit (nursing only):Based on acuity, usually 1:5-79. Dress Code:Navy blue scrubs
