Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Specialty Surgical Unit (SSU) Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights with Rotating Weekends Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Per Week Experience: Minimum of 3 Years Surgical Post-Op Experience License: Active RN License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Required Must-Have: EPIC Experience Preferred Job Description: - Provide care for post-surgical patients, including General, Joints, Bariatric, and some Cardiothoracic patients with chest tubes. - Ambulate patients and perform duties like starting IVs and wound care. - Utilize EPIC for charting and Omnicell for medication management. - Work night shifts with rotating weekends and collaborate with at least one other RN on the floor. - May float to Med Surgical floor, step-down unit, or Cardiac floor as needed. - Work in a unit with 15 private rooms, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1, with flexibility for 5:1 if necessary. - Wear Navy Blue scrubs as part of the dress code. - Participate in a 3-day unit orientation as well as Orthopedic and Bariatric computer module training. Orientation occurs every two weeks. Please note that guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation.
