Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Med-Surg Adult Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: Active WA license required Certifications: Not specified Must-Have: - Experience in Minor Care, Med-Surg, and PCU - Willingness to flex into departments as needed - Knowledge of safe equipment operation and troubleshooting techniques Job Description: - Identify patients' and significant others' needs for patient education and provide education using appropriate modalities. - Ensure patient safety through preventative measures such as side rails, restraints, and safe equipment use, following policies correctly. - Demonstrate knowledge of safe equipment operation in the PCU/Telemetry/Med-Surg areas, including troubleshooting and accessing equipment manuals as needed. - Implement infection control and isolation procedures using proper methods and documentation; utilize standard precautions at all times. - Maintain complete, accurate, concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during assigned shifts; document charges accurately. - Ensure accuracy and timely completion of physicians' orders and conduct a 24-hour check of orders as required. - Provide thorough and accurate change of shift reports to oncoming employees and communicate comprehensively with other departments. - Report critical lab values to physicians promptly, following policy guidelines. - Maintain and restock emergency carts, room, and general supplies. - Perform other duties as assigned.
