Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Job Duration: 18 months Shift: Day Shifts, 4x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30) Guaranteed Hours: 4, 12-hour shifts - 48 hours in one workweek Experience: Minimum of 3 years, required to have completed 3-4 travel assignments License: In-state or compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Must-Have: Telemetry, IV Starts, Cardiac Drips, Cerner Job Description: - This position involves floating among Acuity Adaptive Units and Emergency Department boarding. - Nurses will care for patients awaiting transfer to PCU or MedSurg units. - High patient admission, discharge, and transfer rates are to be expected. - The candidate must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs. - Required to work every other weekend and two out of three major holidays. - Use of Cerner charting is mandatory. - Completion of non-billable modules (average 4-6 hours) pre-start is required. - Orientation is 12 hours, which is non-billable. For ICU, MS Tele, PCU, and ER positions, local applicants are not accepted. Floating is mandatory for all travelers, within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals. Flu vaccine is required with medical or religious exemptions only. Completion of an accredited program by ACEN or CCNE is required.
