Job Title: Registered NurseJob Specialty: General, Dialysis, Mental HealthJob Duration: 52 weeksShift: Day 8:00 AM-4:00 PMGuaranteed Hours: Not specifiedExperience: Not specifiedLicense: Registered Nurse (RN)Certifications: Infection Control Certification required; Wound Care Certification preferredMust-Have: Wound Care experience (can be substituted for Wound Care Certification)Job Description:- Provide professional nursing care to individuals in various settings, including hospitalized students, inmates, juvenile offenders, or consumers in state-owned/operated facilities.- Observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients in the infirmary and outpatient clinics.- Conduct nursing rounds, take and record vital signs, and prepare and administer prescribed medications and treatments.- Monitor restrained patients on a timely basis and provide immediate medical attention during emergencies.- Schedule, assign, and review work of lower-level staff, participate in staff development, and educate new employees.- Manage healthcare for bedridden inmates, develop care plans, teach health care principles, and perform specialized procedures such as IV therapy, chemotherapy, wound care, dialysis, and more.- Organize and oversee emergency response ( code blue team) and direct healthcare staff within the assigned area.- Assist physicians in providing diagnostic health evaluations and perform clerical tasks such as charting and recording medications, treatments, and medical information.- Complete required reports, document relevant information, order supplies, and maintain inventory of controlled substances and equipment.- Arrange outpatient clinic appointments, medical examinations, and prescriptions as ordered by physicians.- Perform administrative tasks, serve as a liaison within the organization, conduct or attend meetings, and occasionally instruct or lead problem-solving teams. Major Worker Characteristics:- Knowledge of professional registered nursing procedures and state and federal regulations related to nursing.- Skilled in the operation of medical equipment.- Ability to handle abstract and concrete variables, write accurate reports, and classify information effectively.- Physical fitness to perform assigned duties.
