Job Description: - Work in a busy and fast-paced acute psychiatric hospital setting. - Manage a patient population that is entirely adult, with varying levels of mental health needs, including: - 100 level: Depression and suicidal tendencies. - 200 level: Severe mental illness. - 300 level: A mix of both. - Small detox unit involvement. - Float between units as needed. - Responsibilities include managing a med cart, passing medications, and handling admissions, discharges, and patient assessments (approximately 10-15 assessments daily). - Ability to address aggression and perform some physical holds. - No IV or wound care required. - Approximately 40% of admissions are voluntary, with 60% being committed (temporary 8 days before transfer). - Work with an approximate nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:12, often alongside another nurse per unit (sometimes an RN and an LPN).
