Job Description :

Behavioral Health- Inpatient position at Monument Health Behavioral Health Center
Located in Rapid City, South Dakota
Minimum experience required: 1 year
Accepts first-time travelers with more than 2 years of experience
Travelers must live 100 miles away from any Monument Health facility
Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
Patient types include psychiatric children/adolescents and adults
Diagnoses include Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Psychosis, Adjustment Disorder
Facility occasionally has violent/aggressive patients
No ECT performed at the facility

RN & LPN: BLS and CPI (preferred to have prior to start but can obtain on assignment)
Psych Tech: BLS and CPI – required to have CPI prior to start due to minimal orientation provided
Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing for RN & LPN
High School Diploma for Psych Tech

Blocked scheduling will NOT be accommodated
Variable shifts with no guarantee of nights or days throughout contract
Weekend rotation: every other weekend; 12 hours on the weekend and could be a combo on Fri, Sat or Sun
Shift details: 8 hr Days: 0800-1600, 8 hr Eves: 1600-0030, 8 hr Nights: 0000-0830, 12 hr Days: 0800-2030, 12 hr Nights: 2000-0830
On-call may be required depending on census
Holiday expectations: work one major holiday of Thanksgiving or Christmas to get the other off

Patient ratios: RN: 1:8 with a tech, LPN: 1:8 with a tech, Psych Tech: 1:10
Support on the unit includes security, panic alarms, and a charge nurse available 24/7
Charting system: EPIC, must request approval if no EPIC experience
