Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Telemetry Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour days, 7:00 am - 7:30 pm; every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required for submission Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, Phlebotomy (preferred) Must-Have: Experience in cath lab post-recovery (femoral/radial) and stroke care, drip experience, and familiarity with Meditech is a plus. Job Description: - Work in a Telemetry unit with a bed capacity of 18. - Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5 during the day and 5-6 at night. - Care for patients with common diagnoses such as stroke, CHF, ACS, CAD, post-heart cath, and arrhythmias. - Experience with Meditech and drip management is preferred. - Conduct phlebotomy as needed. - There are no requirements for titrating drips, but experience with set drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Dopamine, and titratable drips like Heparin is beneficial. - Collaborate with monitor technicians responsible for central telemetry, including RN strip sign-offs. - Participate in a system where the charge nurse also maintains a patient assignment. - Work alongside CNAs, with ratios depending on patient acuity. - Utilize equipment such as BiPAP and High Flow devices. - Engage in shifts and scheduling aimed at meeting unit needs with weekend requirements every other weekend and holiday rotations. - No on-call or standby requirements for agency nurses; applicable to core staff only. - Be willing to float to ICU, MS, or ER as needed, handling patients within the scope of practice, including ER boarders. - Wear scrubs of any color. - Complete a department-specific orientation consisting of two 12-hour shifts.
