After successful completion of a six-month traineeship, you will automatically advance to the Treatment Unit Clerk, SG-7. Examples of qualifying settings include but are not limited to: inpatient and outpatient psychiatric or mental health clinics, facilities, or units; and substance abuse clinics or programs. Examples of non-qualifying settings include but are not limited to: facilities or programs serving the developmentally disabled; hospitals, clinics, or other settings providing general medical care or rehabilitation; and nursing homes.Duties Description As a Treatment Unit Clerk, you would work on a ward or unit of a psychiatric center and be responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and monitoring of a variety of clerical records and reports related to the activities of employees and patients in the assigned work area. You would also be required to respond to routine inquiries regarding the functions/programs of the unit or treatment service from visitors or employees and patients from other areas of the facility. Responsibilities may also include ordering and maintaining an inventory of unit supplies and performing miscellaneous clerical duties necessary for the efficient operation of the assigned work area. Depending on the organization of the facility, you might have responsibility for performing these functions for a building, treatment unit, service ward, or group of wards. In all cases, you would be assigned to work in patient areas.NOTE: 1.
