Job SummaryWe are seeking a combination Triage Registered Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will performing a a preliminary assessment to determining the acuity level and urgency of medical assistance required, answering patient questions, serve as resource and/or mentor to LPN's and Medical Assistants. You are a Registered Nurse (RN) who is able to give full attention to what the patient and other staff members are saying and take the time to understand the significance of the information they receive. You will also spend some time room patients and assisting the providers with in office procedures . To succeed, you will need to be and active listener , have demonstrated knowledge and skill in current nursing practices, learn and understand the Colon Rectal Specialty, as well as a strong penchant for solving problems. Responsibilities
- Performing patient assessments based on established guidelines
- Assessing patients over the phone and in the office to determine what type of care they require
- Recommending that the patient seeks emergency treatment, schedules a consultation with a doctor or treats the condition themselves
- Managing the triage telephone system to answer patient questions.
- eviewing a patient's medical history prior to them receiving treatment, determining the patient's symptoms and severity of illness or injury and monitoring vital signs
- Prioritizing and routing patients to receive appropriate medical care or treatment
Qualifications
- Currently licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in state of NY
- 3-5 years previous experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and client care skills
- Valid drivers license
- First aid/CPR certification required
