TRIO STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES (SSS) DIRECTOR/ACADEMIC ADVISORCATEGORY/LEVEL: PSS/11 *This is a grant-funded position, up for renewal on a5-year cycle.BASICFUNCTION: To develop, implement, administer, and evaluate the activities ofTRIO Student Support Services. Assess the financial, academic, and personaldevelopment needs of TRIO SSS participants. Assist them in developing plans tocarry out goals and provide them with the support services necessary to assuretheir success. Required meta-major load in academic advising/StudentDevelopment.START DATE: ASAPSALARY AND BENEFITS: Starting salary of $59,300 to $74,100 based on qualifications and experience.Benefits package includes Blue Cross/Blue Shield major medical healthinsurance; eye care, dental, life and disability insurance; paid vacation andsick leave; a choice of IPERS or TIAA retirement plans, and a variety ofadditional optional benefits.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Counseling, Higher Education, College Student Personnel Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field. Minimum three years of experience working with the academic and developmental needs of students.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with grant writing, managing budgets, completing annual reports, teaching, and supervisory experience.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES;•Develop, implement, administer, and evaluate SSS project in its entirety, including preparation and grant writing.•Administer and evaluate strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure College compliance with federal mandates for TRIO SSS. •Monitor progress of students and success of SSS initiatives to ensure federally approved program objectives are being met.•Hire, supervise, and evaluate the TRIO Student Support Services staff.•Research, collect data, and prepare appropriate reports and records as needed for TRIO SSS.•Assist SSS participants in interpreting assessment data and developing Individual Progress Plans (IPP). •Advise, market, and recruit TRIO SSS participants and maintain communication and relationship through graduation.•Coordinate the administration of comprehensive financial, academic, and personal development assessments to TRIO SSS participants. •Develop in-person and online programming and services that provide students with a comprehensive educational/student support experience.•Teach Success Seminar, Study Strategies, and student workshops as needed.•Provide personal, career, and transfer counseling along with financial literacy and academic advising to individuals and groups within the SSS program and assigned meta-major.•Evaluate the success of the individual participants and provide intervention when necessary.•Maintain student records and all SSS program data in compliance with federal mandates using a variety of technology platforms.•Attend multiple level 1-6 Director Trainings throughout grant cycle to meet compliance regulations.•Apprise the Vice President of all activities regarding SSS, as well as SDV courses, changes, and staffing.•Facilitate professional growth through participation in appropriate state and national organizations and conferences. •Monitor annual budget, Interim and Annual Performance Reports, participant metrics, and changing federal guidelines.•Manage a caseload of students for both TRIO and advising purposes.•Assist the College by serving on multiple campus committees, groups, and teams.•Develop relationships with state TRIO directors, as well as Regent Transfer Teams and SSS programs.Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.NIACC Core Principles: All employees are expected to adhere to all NIACC policies and procedures.
