Truck Driver - Greensboro Urban Ministry : Job Details

Job Title: Truck Driver (Part-Time)Program: Food PantryReports to: Director of the Food PantryFLSA Status: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-ExemptSupervisory Responsibility: NonePosition Summary: This position is responsible for pick-up, delivery, weighing, and storage of food donations to the Greensboro Urban Ministry Food Pantry. Pick-ups are generally scheduled during the day from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The truck driver may be subject to other pick-ups when available.Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30-12:30 PM. 20-25 hours per week.Pay Rate: $20-$22/Hour (based on work experience)Essential Functions:

• Pick up food donations and deliver them to Greensboro Urban Ministry. Pick up forms are prepared by the Director of the Food Pantry and distributed to the truck driver on a daily basis. Return all food to the GUM warehouse and unload, weigh, sort, and complete required paperwork.
• Deliver food donation boxes as scheduled by the Director of the Food Pantry.
• Participate with extra food drives, such as special food drives including the semi-annual community food drives, the Postal Food Drive, Boy Scout Food Drive, etc.
• Treat all volunteers, employees, and clients with respect, sincerity, and compassion.

Other Functions:

• Other duties may be deemed necessary as assigned by management.

Equipment Used:

• Truck, van, floor jack, ladder, fork lift, telephone.

Working Conditions:

• Varying temperatures from cold in winter to hot in the summer. Exposure to dust, truck fumes, refrigerator, and freezer.

RequirementsOther Requirements:

• Standing, carrying, climbing, reaching, sitting, walking, push/pull, may lift 50 pounds or more with assistance, driving, bending, hearing, and squatting.
• Must be able to handle pallets.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• A valid North Carolina driver's license is required.
• Safe driving record is required.
• Minimum of two years of truck driving experience. A CDL is preferred but not required.
