STV currently has an opening in our New York City office for a Tunneling & Geotechnical CADD Manager in our Centers of Excellence division. In this position as a CADD Manager, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and designers on multiple projects for the Tunneling and Geotechnical division. Job Summary:
The Tunneling & Geotechnical CADD Manager is responsible for overseeing the drafting and design of tunneling, geotechnical and underground structures engineering plans and drawings using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software. The individual in this role will manage a team of designers and drafters to ensure that projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner. The CADD Manager will also be responsible for maintaining project documentation, coordinating with engineers and other project team members, and ensuring that quality control procedures are followed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Manage and oversee a team of designers and drafters responsible for creating geotechnical engineering plans and drawings using CADD software.
* Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
* Coordinate with project engineers and other team members to ensure that designs are accurate and meet client and/or project requirements.
* Develop and implement CADD standards and procedures for geotechnical engineering projects.
* Train and mentor staff on CADD software and engineering design principles.
* Maintain project documentation and ensure that it is accurate and up to date.
* Review and approve CADD drawings and designs.
* Ensure that quality control procedures are followed and that designs meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
* Manage project schedules and resources to ensure that project deadlines are met.
* Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that project goals and objectives are achieved.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
* 7+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering design and drafting, with a focus on CADD.
* Proficiency in CADD software, such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar programs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage a team of designers and drafters, and to work effectively with project engineers and other team members.
* Knowledge or past experience with tunneling, underground structures and geotechnical engineering projects including understanding of basic geotechnical principles, including soil mechanics, foundation design, and earth retention systems.
* Familiarity with industry standards, regulations and client/agency requirements related to geotechnical engineering design and drafting.
