Job Title: Tutor

10 months Position Summary/Purpose: Provide classroom academic support to students on an individual or small-group basis for proactive or remedial purposes as directed by the building interventionist
Role and Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions: - Create a welcoming and inviting environment for students
- Contribute to student learning, growth, and advancement
- Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice
- Serve as a role model for students
- Work with individuals and small groups of students on literacy skills as directed by interventionist
- Observe and evaluate student's performance
- Interpret and apply oral and/or written directions
- Provide feedback assessment of student progress to teacher, interventionist, and administrators
- Communicate, collaborate, and cooperate with student, colleagues, and supervisor
- Read and understand written and spoken English
- Partcipate in required professional development
- Perform other duties as assigned and appropriate for the position

Qualifications and Education Requirements: Illinois Educator License with Stipulations (PARA) Paraprofessional Endorsement or Professional Educator License (PEL)
Working conditions / Environment: Physical Demands: mobility within the instructional area and throughout the school facility, visual acuity close/distance/depth perception, hearing to receive information, verbal to exchange information. Physical demand often include sitting for prolonged periods of time, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching forward, lifting up to 25 pounds, pushing and pulling
Environmental Conditions: indoor climate-controlled school environment.
