Assists with daily operations of the Academic Support Center.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree.
Required Experience Preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Math, English, or related field.
Preferred Experience
Experience in working in a tutoring lab environment preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Responsible for assisting with the supervision of 8 to 12 tutors, part-time staff, and work study students.
* Assists with record keeping and reporting duties including implementing effective Tutor Trac and Tutor.com procedures and regularly updating Instructional Support Procedures in Shared Folder as well as on the Weatherford College web pages.
* Ensures proper lab procedures are followed by students, tutors, and other staff.
* Schedules and coordinates staffing of the center.
* Schedules and coordinates tutoring and workshops offerings.
* Communicates with faculty to meet academic needs of students.
* Oversees front desk duties, assisting students signing in and out.
* Develops, implements, and teaches workshops, seminars, and other learning activities.
* Coordinates tutorial activities, presentations, and workshops with Department Chairs and instructors.
* Visits classes at the beginning of the semester to inform students of location of and services provided by the department.
* Assists with recruiting and training tutors and staff.
* Tutors as needed.
* Promotes Instructional Support centers, programs and services.
* Maintains CRLA documentation, conducts CRLA training, and ensures center maintains CRLA Certification.
* Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
* Oversees and suggests needed changes to the Instructional Support website.
* Keeps center materials and workshops up-to-date with current trends and demands.
* Other duties as assigned.
