About SUNY Broome Community College:SUNY Broome Community College is a comprehensive community college located in the scenic Southern Tier of New York. The College has over 7,700 students annually, and services over 6,100 students per semester in Liberal Arts, Business & Professional Studies, Health Sciences, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs. An additional 1,600 students are served through the College's workforce and non-credit programs.Job Description:SUNY Broome is seeking candidates for a part-time Typist in the Educational Opportunity Program office (EOP).SUNY Broome Community College's Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is a NY State-funded program that provides access for historically underrepresented students to and through college. The program provides personal, academic and financial support for first-time, full-time students who show promise for succeeding in college. SUNY Broome proudly serves 83 EOP students on its campus.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Filing of student records.Updating office spreadsheets.Responding to inquiries about the program via phone and email.Calendar and programming support.Recruitment and budgetary support (i.e. purchasing and requisitions).Requirements:A graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma is required.The ability to work with diverse and underrepresented students.Effective communication skills.The ability and desire to effectively work in a fast paced, team environment and to anticipate the needs of the program.The understanding of, and ability to use, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Office Suite, fax machine, and photo copy machine.A friendly and welcoming demeanor.Additional Information:The hourly rate for this position is $18.06.Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.SUNY Broome Community College is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer with a strong commitment to enhancing the diversity and inclusion of the campus community and curriculum.
