Ultrasound Sonographer - Vascular Office - Full Time - Days - Mohawk Valley Health System : Job Details

The Vascular Sonographer performs accurate, high quality duplex examinations independently, generates preliminary reports for final interpretation by the vascular surgeons, therefore, assisting with facilitation of patient treatment plans. The Vascular Sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase their level of understanding and knowledge of the field of vascular disease, new procedures as they evolve, communicating often with the vascular providers.

-Perform non-invasive vascular studies as scheduled. Types of examinations include: extracranial cerebrovascular, upper and lower extremity arterial duplex, upper and lower extremity venous duplex, venous insufficiency, aorta-iliac, iliocaval, renal, mesenteric, dialysis access evaluation, preoperative vessel mapping and venous ablation procedures.

-Obtain and provide adequate information pertinent to clinical findings that will assist in final reporting and patient treatment plans. Preparing, transcribing and typing reports which includes test data and preliminary interpretation for final review by the vascular surgeon.

Preferred:

-Preferred two years of equivalent vascular experience.

-Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.

-Must have solid knowledge base of vascular anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics and pathology and how it relates to non-invasive vascular testing.

Required:

-Active certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).

-Graduation from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.

-Current BLS certification.
