- Corroborates patient's clinical history, assuring information is documented and available for the radiologist.
- Prepares patient for procedure, instructs patient for examination, relieves patient's anxiety. Verifies informed consent.
- Complies with departmental scheduling guidelines. Is prepared to start shift on time. Takes rotating shifts and call.
- Performs skills according to accepted standards as listed within the orientation skills checklist.
- Determines proper transducer for examination follows established protocols, records data as necessary. Transports patients as necessary.
- Performs office procedures accurately in absence of clerical personnel. Prepares reports for data processing.
- Written documentation is accurate, concise, and legible.
- Always wears film badge above the collar. Turns in film badge monthly for evaluation and follows up on results.
- Provides instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety. Provides psychological needs of patient during procedure.
