Job Description :

Title: Underwriting Support Assistant

Location: Austin, TX

Duration: Contract-to-hire

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Primary responsibility is to invoice bonds. The UW Support Assistant will work closely with branch Underwriting Assistants, as well as working directly with all Underwriters. Excellent customer service and attention to detail are critical.

Essential Functions:

1. Provide direct support to Underwriters

2. Invoice bonds

3. Maintain suspense calendar other follow up procedures

4. Follow specific written & verbal procedures

5. Set up bond files in the system

6. Close all types of files – Bond closings with no premium adjustments

7. Perform special projects and others tasks as assigned by supervisor

Additional Functions:

1. Backup for answering phones and reception duties

2. Backup for filing when needed

3. Prepare outgoing mail and overnights

4. Pull Credit Reports – Personal, Business, Lexus, & Westlaw

5. Set Up and maintain structure of system files

6. Prepare indemnity agreements & other miscellaneous agreements

Required Education/Experience:

High School Diploma; College experience a plus. Strong customer service or corporate support experience with an emphasis in supporting transactional workflow.

Necessary Skills:

• Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook; Internet Explorer

• Ability to interact positively, succinctly and professionally with all levels of internal clients and be comfortable building a rapport with differing personalities

• Able to complete tasks and assignments in a high volume work environment

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form

• Demonstrate the ability to produce error-free work and achieve high levels of accuracy. Strong attention to detail

• Ability to analyze a problem and develop a solution

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal customers in a professional manner

• Team player that works well in a collaborative environment

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment as well as independently
