The Universal Banker is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer service experience at each customer touchpoint. This role involves actively engaging customers, identifying their needs, and providing tailored solutions that contribute to the success of the branch and the organization. The position focuses on enhancing customer satisfaction while supporting the organizations growth and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide top-tier customer service to customers, partners, and prospects by offering solutions and recommendations that meet customer needs.
  • Process paying and receiving transactions accurately, as well as handle cash vault activities in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and regulatory procedures.
  • Support branch business development plans and assist in achieving growth goals.

Essential Functions

  • Greet customers upon arrival, delivering a seamless, one-stop service experience.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services.
  • Promote and sell products and services, such as deposits, loans, and cash management solutions.
  • Address customer inquiries via in-person, phone, mail, or email communication, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Open new accounts and complete all necessary documentation, adhering to policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Process various financial transactions, including wire transfers, and introduce customers to self-service options.
  • Conduct follow-up meetings with customers to provide ongoing support and value-added services.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to facilitate referrals and enhance service delivery.
  • Complete all assigned training and ensure compliance with regulatory mandates.
  • Competencies and Skills

    • Excellent communication skills, bilingual Spanish is a plus.
    • Proficient in reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics.
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • General knowledge of retail banking procedures and regulations.
    • Familiarity with technology, including online banking, ATMs, and Microsoft Office.
    • Motivated with an aptitude for sales.

    Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with a focus on business.
    • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in banking or a related field.
