This person requires the ability to build and maintain relationships with prospective and current customers through communicating all Jeff Bank products and services effectively and professionally. This person must also work with a team to meet or exceed personal and branch goals, be flexible to changing needs and open to learning new tasks.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Demonstrate core values and guiding principles as outlined in the Bank's Mission, Vision and Value Statements of which the following are illustrative:
    • Gives exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers by providing prompt, polite and effective communication.
    • Participates as a member of the team.
    • Positively and proactively contributes to the Bank's strategic plan.
    • Demonstrates support of management.
  • Ensure that all activities and work functions adhere to compliance requirements as are defined in company policies and procedures as well as state/federal laws and regulations.
  • Perform the following teller duties including but not limited to:
    • Receive deposits of cash and checks for credit to depository accounts. Place holds where applicable according to bank policy.
    • Cash checks according to bank policy.
    • Verify signatures and customer balances.
    • Issue cashier's checks and perform cash advances for customers on Visa or Mastercard.
    • Process night deposit and mail deposits.
    • Balance cash drawer.
    • Sell mutilated currency to Head Teller or designee
    • Provide assistance and information to customers and refers them to other areas of the bank as necessary.
    • Order currency and coin as needed; ship currency and coin as needed.
    • Assist with the balancing of the vault.
    • Receive and process consumer loan, mortgage and home equity payments and generate customer receipts.
    • Scan daily work and perform other teller functions that might be needed. Assist others to complete tasks and assignments.
    • Ensure teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, brochures, etc.
  • Perform account services duties of which the following is illustrative:
    • Open new accounts, including checking, savings, IRAs, CDs, Safe Deposit Boxes.
    • Redeem IRAs and CDs.
    • Issue, order, activate and service ATM and Debit Cards.
    • Take outgoing wire transfer requests.
    • Process check and deposit slip order for accounts.
    • Check completed new accounts, closed accounts, file maintenance reports.
    • Educate and Cross sell bank products and services.
    • Assist customers with account inquiries.
    • Any other functions asked to be performed by Supervisor.
  • Perform the following leadership skills including but not limited:
    • Develop and sustain cooperative working relationships.
    • Provide on the spot coaching of staff members where applicable.
    • Encourage and facilitate cooperation with the organization and with both internal and external customer groups.
  • May perform the following loan operations duties:
    • Interview customers applying for consumer loans, mortgage loans, home equity loans etc.
    • Underwrite loan applications including credit reporting, debt servicing calculation
    • Refer loan applications to Lending Officer.
    • Actively collect on any past due loan accounts.

Related work experience may substitute for education.Skill(s):Most important to this position are accuracy, judgment, reliability and good customer relations. This position requires good communication with customers and mathematical and general business knowledge.Preferably a minimum of 2 years banking experience and some training in customer relations. A good knowledge of personal computers is a requirement including Microsoft Word and Excel. Should beable to perform work satisfactorily after 3 months on the job training.
