This teacher must be versatile in what courses he or she can potentially teach. He or she must be adept in the instruction of writing and appreciate the role that literary analysis and critical thinking have in a robust English curriculum. He or she must be dynamic in their instructional approach, skilled in differentiation, and capable of collaborating with peers across disciplines. He or she must be knowledgeable in interdisciplinary content and pedagogy, and able to meet the needs of all learners. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital as relationships are the cornerstone to student success. This individual must be able to build strong, trusting relationships with all community stakeholders; students, colleagues, and parents.
