Job DetailsLevel Senior Job Location 637 Washington Street - Boston, MA Position Summary: The Urgent Care Director at Codman Square Health Center is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, operational management, and clinical excellence of the Urgent Care Department. The Director will drive quality patient care, revenue growth, expand community outreach, and enhance patient care services, ensuring that the Urgent Care unit meets the health center's mission to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care to the community. Key Responsibilities:1. Strategic Leadership and Revenue Generation
  • Revenue Growth: Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue from urgent care services, including introducing new services, optimizing billing processes, and enhancing patient flow to increase visit volume and service efficiency.
  • Operational Efficiency: Lead initiatives to improve operational workflows, reduce patient wait times, enhance patient satisfaction, and increase throughput in alignment with financial goals.
  • Financial Stewardship: Monitor and manage the departmental budget, ensuring cost-effective resource use while maintaining high-quality care. Provide regular financial performance reports to the CMO and Senior Leadership Team.
2. Clinical and Operational Management
  • Clinical Oversight: Oversee clinical protocols, patient care pathways, and treatment standards within the Urgent Care Department to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care.
  • Staff Supervision: The Associate Director will report to you as the Director of UC. The UC Director manages urgent care providers and staff, including recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and performance evaluation. The UC Director also fosters a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and accreditation standards, including state and federal healthcare regulations. Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
3. Community Outreach and Engagement
  • Community Integration: Actively engage with the community to identify and address urgent care needs, fostering relationships with local organizations, schools, and businesses to promote Codman Square Health Center's services.
  • Outreach Programs: Design and implement outreach programs that increase community awareness and utilization of urgent care services, particularly among underserved populations.
  • Partnership Development: Collaborate with local healthcare providers, hospitals, and public health entities to develop partnerships that support community health and expand the reach of urgent care services.
4. Leadership and Collaboration
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Family Medicine, Behavioral Health, and Nursing, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between the Urgent Care Department and the Senior Medical Leadership Team, providing regular updates on departmental performance, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to emerging leaders within the department, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
5. Innovation and Program Development
  • Service Expansion: Identify opportunities to expand urgent care services, including telemedicine, specialized clinics (e.g., occupational health, sports injuries), and extended hours, to meet the evolving needs of the community.
  • Technology Integration: Champion the integration of new technologies that enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and data management within the Urgent Care Department.
Qualifications:
  • Education: MD or DO, licensed to practice in Massachusetts with at least five years of clinical experience, including at least two years in an urgent care or emergency medicine setting.
  • Experience: Proven track record of leadership in a healthcare setting, with experience in managing a team, driving revenue growth, and engaging in community outreach.
  • Skills: Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, and the ability to lead and inspire a diverse team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate vision and strategy effectively.
Working Conditions:

  • Physical Requirements: The role may require occasional lifting of supplies and equipment and the ability to stand for extended periods during clinical oversight.
