***Pay dependent on qualifications and experience - $25 - $40 flat rate*** About your role: The Technician performs accurate diagnostics on all makes and models of automobiles and provides fast, accurate, high-quality, efficient mechanical repairs. Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities: Diagnoses and repairs vehicles to specifications, ensuring they are safe to drive by test-driving vehicles, testing components and systems, and using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices. Examines vehicles to determine the extent of damage or malfunctions. Tears down, repair, replace, and/or rebuild faulty assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, linkages, pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings. Disassembles units and inspects parts for wear using micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Rewires ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels and repairs manual and automatic transmissions. Closely inspect parts like hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, and other items. Adequately explains the technical diagnosis and required repairs to non-mechanical individuals. Follows Company safety policies and practices and immediately reports all accidents to the Manager/Supervisor. Assists with other duties as assigned. Follow scheduled hours as needed, defined by your manager. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Automotive trade or technical school is preferred. ASE certification is preferred. Type of Experience Needed to be Successful: 1-3 years of automotive technician experience is required. Specialized Skills: Must maintain a valid state driver's license to drive any customer or company vehicle. Ability to drive and handle various vehicle makes models, and sizes. Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment team-oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service. Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, electrical, engine, alignment systems, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc. Desire to continue learning and ability to adapt to changes in technology and equipment.
