SUMMARYThe primary responsibility of a Used Truck Salesperson is to meet established sales goals for used truck sales through selling to existing customers and seeking out new customers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist customers in selecting a truck by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses to satisfy their transportation needs.
- Turn 100 percent of closed deals to finance and insurance manager, along with properly completed paperwork (i.e., insurance information, trade title, etc.).
- Ensures sold trucks are ready for customer delivery (i.e., units are clean, fueled and operational) prior to customer arrival.
- Writes complete sales orders and processes paperwork in accordance with established dealership policies.
- Introduces customers to parts and service department personnel to emphasize to them the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership's service department.
- Follows up on all post-delivery items, and special requests to be sure that all customer expectations are met.
- Knows and understands the federal, state, and local laws which govern retail used truck sales.
- Knows and understands the value of used trucks in dealership inventory. Ensure that the used sales manager has an opportunity to meet each customer.
- Attend product and sales training courses and meetings as requested by management.

Speak effectively with customers or other employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
