The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a USER ACCESS ASSOCIATE to support the hospital library and GME wellness space. The associate will support daily operations of the new GME Wellness Space, including equipment maintenance, reporting technical issues, managing supplies, and booking meeting spaces. They will also assist residents and fellows with computer and equipment troubleshooting. In addition, they will support reference and information services by managing and updating resource guides for residency programs, providing assistance with full text retrieval for clinical research projects, and updating journal links for the hospital library's table of contents service.
RESPONSIBILITES:
* Check library/quiet study space daily; add paper to printers, check computers and report issues to HSIS or AskIT, place requests to environmental services and maintenance as necessary.
* Assist patrons with basic troubleshooting of computers, copy, and fax machines and refer to librarians or IT support as appropriate Compile monthly statistics and distribute to appropriate departments.
* Assist with Table of Contents Service by updating journal links weekly Assist librarians with systematic review support by obtaining and uploading full text for clinical researchers Requisition all necessary supplies and materials for library (and wellness center).
* Book meeting space for Graduate Medical Education Monitor spaces daily, including kitchen, meeting room, workout area, and library, checking on supplies, equipment and cleanliness and taking appropriate action when any space needs attention from Environmental Services, Hospital Maintenance, or outside vendors.
* Advise the Clinical Services Librarian of any notable problems or suggestions regarding the GME Wellness Center Answer phones and refer callers to appropriate librarian or department.
* Help set up meeting space for workshops, classes, or meetings when requested Receive books from UAB Libraries courier, notify patrons, and check books in and out.
* Update reference book statistics.
* Update and maintain Clinical Resource Guides.
* Help Clinical Librarians plan for and advertising workshops.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
(Hourly Rate: $15.00 - $15.38)
Bachelor's degree required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
