DepartmentCAPITAL PLANNING (UA-UART-IUINA)Job Summary
  • Coordinates assignments related to utility work for repair and rehabilitation, capital, construction, maintenance, and infrastructure projects.
  • Documents and reports issues and participates in planning upgrades and outage projects.
  • Performs technical inspections, performs utility locates, makes recommendations, and provides other technical support for utilities work.
  • Relays reported problems to the appropriate staff and may assist with periodic scheduled and ad hoc inspections to identify repair and maintenance needs.
  • Coordinates fulfillment of work orders for corrective action and routine maintenance; monitors progress, escalating complex matters as needed.
  • Responds to emergencies in an on-call rotation.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
WORK EXPERIENCERequired
  • 5 years of verifiable journey level experience in electrical field, preference for medium voltage experience

Working Conditions / DemandsThis role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. This role frequently requires the ability to handle equipment. This role frequently requires the ability to remain stationary and ascend/descend ladders/stairs. This role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The role requires the ability to detect items in close proximity as well as far away; discern between colors; detect objects in peripheral space of self; discern items in detail; and to have good depth perception.
