Summary
This position covers Engineering work associated with Utility Operations, Maintenance, Design, Modification, Construction, Billing and Cost Allocations. The employee will provide Professional Engineering oversight of Navy Utility Systems within the NAVFAC NW area of responsibility. The incumbent will provide guidance for Utility Design, Construction, Safety, Operations, Maintenance, Energy and Resource Efficiany and Billing.
Duties
- You will provide engineering and design services to all activities and tenants for a broad range of facilities, served by NAVFAC ranging from administrative and housing facilities to very complex industrial and operational facilities.
- You will provide mechanical engineering products, services and consultation for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of facilities for projects such as demolition, maintenance, space utilization and facilities development.
- You will develop engineering designs and plans for mechanical utility systems (e.g., heating, ventilating, AC, and refrigeration) for hospitals/laboratories, control centers, hangars, medical facilities, and large and complex utility systems.
Qualifications
1) Perform design analyses and calculations for mechanical projects to prepare final detailed work drawings, comparative cost analysis, request for proposals, and project specifications;
2) Develop designs and analyses utilizing mechanical engineering software (e.g. Whole Building Design Guide, AutoCAD, SpecsInTact, etc.);
3) Acts as final authority on scope compliance and resolves design review comments with the A/E firms to correct deficiencies;
4) Tracks progress of projects to ensure they are kept within construction budgets and that drawings and specifications are completed within allotted design schedules.

- This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
