Job Description :

Major Duties

* Responsibilities, duties, and skills outlined in the OPR job performance measures including, but not limited to, boiler and turbine operation and water chemistry.

* Responsibilities, duties, and skills outlined in the Advanced Maintenance Performance Measures including, but not limited to, piping, pumps, valves and seals repair and maintenance.

* Active participation in the Power Plant's apprenticeship program is a condition of employment.

* Other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

* Ability to read and interpret schematics.

* Ability to use various testing instrumentation and measurement equipment.

* Ability to operate equipment, including but not limited to, power industrial trucks, scissor lifts, man-lifts, etc., and move and operate hand held power tools and manual equipment.

* Ability to handle physical requirements of job including but not limited to climbing ladders, carrying equipment, temperature extremes, noise, etc., in a power plant environment where there is potential exposure to superheated steam, high voltage equipment, various toxic chemicals including sulfuric acid.

* A physical examination administered by the employer's designated physician is required to determine the incumbent's ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Desired Qualifications

* Possession of fourth class engineers license certified by the National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers, or an equivalent combination and experience and/or completion of appropriate job performance measures.

* Ability to operate and maintain steam and electrical generating equipment.

* Position shift is a 12-hour night shift: 6 pm - 6 am including weekend rotation.
