UTILITY WORKER* - Duke University : Job Details

Work Performed

• Provide light maintenance and operational support to University groups requiring such services.
• Perform various light maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, replacing light bulbs, opening drain lines, checking power panels (on/off only), and inspecting electrical outlets for damage.
• Perform light carpentry repairs, including replacing window shades, drapes, and acoustical ceiling tiles, installing traffic signs, installing furniture bumpers, and adjusting closet doors.
• Perform routine tasks in the assembly of furniture and other materials and equipment as required.
• Operate a light truck or van to pick up and deliver furniture, supplies, equipment, and personnel.
• Perform housekeeping duties when required, including operating floor equipment to strip, scrub, wax, and refinish floors and baseboards, cleaning windows, door frames, walls, and servicing assigned areas.
• Report tasks beyond capability or scope to the proper authority.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
