STARTING PAY = $13.00 per hourSUMMARYUnder direct supervision, performs various semi-skilled and unskilled manual functions in the construction and maintenance of City streets, alleys and other properties. Requires skills typically acquired as a laborer.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES* Operates light-duty equipment (1-ton utility truck, tractor, mower, etc.)* Checks oil, fuel, and water on vehicles and equipment.* Performs seasonal weed mowing and spraying.* Rakes asphalt and/or works concrete.* Completes daily job and vehicle inspection reports.* Performs minor maintenance on small equipment.* Performs various cleaning details (emptying trash receptacles, etc.)* May assist with traffic flagging, sealcoating, and alley sealing operations.* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSAny combination of training and experience with at least completion of the eighth (8th) grade and a minimum of one year of construction or similar work environment. Valid Texas Driver's License required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES* Ability to work in undesirable conditions and inclement weather.* Ability to use and/or operate vehicles, tractors, tractor mowers, miscellaneous equipment, hand and power tools, shovels, pick, wrenches, jack hammer, skill saw, etc.* Assists in various maintenance, repair, and construction work.* Checks oil, fuel, and water on vehicles and equipment.* Responsible for raking asphalt and working concrete, performing minor maintenance on small equipment, fills out job reports, performs various cleaning duties.* Performs other duties as requiredADA PROFILEReasonable accommodation will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
