Part Time Van Driver

Reports to: Manager of Morgan County Connect.

Supervises: None

Other Internal contacts: Participants, Passengers.

Staff External contacts: Families, Residential Providers.

Public Work environment: 100% Van/Community.

Job Summary:

Provide safe and timely public transport of individuals by operating a motor vehicle in compliance with all applicable DOT, Federal, State, local, and system regulations.

Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking the vehicle, including the use of adaptive equipment as needed.

Effectively communicate with passengers, community members, and co-workers.

Ensure safety is taken while transporting participants and emergencies are handled while in route.

Complete documentation and maintain records as instructed. Complete inspections and inventories as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Be 21 years of age or older.

Possess a valid driver's license, good driving record that meets or exceeds system's established driver eligibility standards, and the ability to obtain a public passenger chauffeur's license required.

Ability to successfully pass Personal Assistance Training and Drug and Alcohol Testing.

Must have phone accessibility.

Ability to keep accurate documentation.

Knowledge of developmental disabilities preferred.

Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, twist, push, and pull.
