Responsibilities
Manage and evaluate office processes, revise procedures, and devise alternative methods to improve the scheduling, budgeting and directing for the Nevada and California Utility Vegetation Management programs (UVM), which include tree pruning and subject pole clearance to ensure safe and reliable energy for the electric customers throughout the service area including Distribution and Transmission voltage class systems. Work on multiple tasks simultaneously applying analytical and technical skills to accomplish major accountabilities and ensure the efficient and successful completion of a coordinated UVM program within the established preventive maintenance plan. Utilizing resources available to coordinate logging operations and salvage logging operations and effective use of contracted labor and equipment.
1. Develop and maintain a tree trimming schedule to address system and mandated clearance requirements within the budget limits.
2. Stay current on Utility Vegetation Management regulatory mandates imposed by regulatory agencies such as NERC/ERO, FERC, WECC, NPUC, CPUC and CFS.
3. Administer Tree trimming contracts and audit contractor invoices for completed work.
4. Conduct field audit of vegetation management contractors and verify work performed.
5. Establish good communication channels with line department?s area managers and supervisors.
6. Educate company's employees and customers about utility vegetation management and its benefits.
7. Maintain tree trimming records and verify vendor invoices avoiding budget over runs.

Requirements
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's Degree in the area of specialty from an accredited school and 3-5 years of related working experiences. Candidates that do not possess a bachelor's degree must have a minimum of 7 years of related work experience.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge or related experience of electric utility maintenance and operating procedures. Demonstrated working knowledge of the company's safety rules and standard practices for line work. Demonstrated knowledge to prepare contract bid specifications and program status reports. Demonstrated organization and communication skills.
* Requires 5 years of broad knowledge and green industry experience and certified as an ISA Certified Arborist. Obtain ISA Certified Utility Specialist within 2 years of employment..
* Knowledgeable with federal regulating agencies such as FERC and NERC guidelines and standards governing transmission lines as well as applicable Nevada and California state rules and regulations such as PRC 4293, G.O. 95 rule 35.
* A working knowledge of company's safety rules and standard practices for line work is required. Must posses the administrative skills required to prepare contract bid specifications and program status reports.
* The candidate must also have ability to deal effectively with the public. This position requires the ability to coordinate activity with other departments and to work with the various levels of company personnel.
* Absolute commitment to safety, acts with ethics and integrity, demonstrates the ability to get results, thrives in a team environment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills, proficient with Word, Excel and other standard software and a working knowledge of personal computers for maintenance and inspection applications.

Compensation
Annual Salary: $76,200 (Min) to $89,600 (Mid); Up to 12% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
