Duties and Responsibilities
The Vegetation Management Analyst will work closely with an integrated team to perform a wide range of assignments for clients in the energy sector, including:
- Identify opportunities for improving safety.
- Report unsafe working conditions, work practices, and potential hazards.
- Safely operate a motor vehicle for travel to assigned work areas.
- Conduct and support vegetation management field inspections for electric facilities.
- Identification of electric transmission, substation, and distribution facilities.
- Identification of vegetation/conductor clearances.
- Document and report hazard trees that threaten electric facilities using tree risk assessment principles.
- Participate in daily safety briefing meetings.
- Identification of native and landscape tree species.
- Audit completed utility vegetation inspection and/or line clearance contractor field work for compliance with Client's specifications and procedures.
- Use of various arboricultural tools.
Terms of Employment
This position is offered for full-time employment. FEP will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
Qualifications
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Competence proving quality assurance/quality control for all work projects submitted to stakeholders.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills that include a teamwork attitude with a focus on meeting stakeholder need while striving for an enjoyable work environment for all FEP staff.
- Preferred location is California or Colorado. Other western states will be considered.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in forestry, urban forestry, arboriculture, or closely related field preferred.
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, applicable experience working for a utility or utility contractor in vegetation management will be considered.
- ISA Certified Arborist preferred.
- 0-5 years' experience in electric utility vegetation management.
Compensation Range
The estimated compensation range for this position is $50,000 to $97,000/year for a full-time, exempt position. FEP takes into consideration a candidate's education, training, and experience, as well as the employee's work location.
