About the Employer

We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. Antioch Unified School District is centrally located in the East Bay and provides ready access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites and the Pacific Ocean. Unit: CSEA Current Vacancies: 1 Classification Work Hours/Months: 8 Hours/ 12 Months CSEA Range 139: Step A $6,478 (Min) - Step F $8,292 (Max) Promotional/Open: The promotional group as well as the public may apply. The promotional side of the eligibility list shall take precedence when certifying eligibles. APPLICATION DEADINE - MONDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2024 by 4:30 PM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by completion of an approved apprenticeship program in automotive repair and three years' experience in the maintenance and repair of gasoline, diesel and alternative-powered vehicles and equipment. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California Class B commercial driver's license with air brake and passenger endorsements. Valid Medical Card. Required Strength Testing: All offers of employment are conditional upon the applicant's satisfactory results of the Post Offer, Pre-Placement Physical Evaluation Program (PEP). This physical strength test helps us select employee candidates that have demonstrated a minimum level of strength to perform the essential functions of the job.

SELECTION & EXAMINATIONS: The selection process will consist of a competitive application screening for completeness, qualifications, and experience. Application evaluation (weighted 10%) and an oral interview exam (weighted 90%) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on each portion to be placed on the eligibility list. Final selection will be made from those who achieve the three highest ranking scores.
